At the last PHN I worked for someone did the sums and concluded that the PHN controlled less than 0.7% of the overall health budget for the region. Why should anyone take us seriously then, least of all the acute hospitals?
- How might PHN’s garner influence even when we don’t control the flow of dollars?
- With so many gaps to fill how can we be sure that our commissioning can be truly meaningful to the communities we serve?
- What might be the consequences if we can’t demonstrate a positive ROI – Return On Investment? How long should the Commonwealth reasonably wait for us to establish our value proposition to the taxpayer?
